Hi, I’m Jenny.

I’m Jenny Gilmore-Palermo — a former figure skater, skating parent, and senior database engineer.

I grew up figure skating in Canada and now live in Salem, Massachusetts, where my daughter figure skates and my son plays hockey — which means I still spend an unreasonable amount of time at the rink.

One of the things I’ve come to appreciate even more as a skating parent is that progress in figure skating isn’t usually one big moment. It’s all the tiny steps along the way — a skill getting a little stronger, a coach’s note finally clicking, a new jump getting closer, a test passed, or realizing that something that used to be hard suddenly isn’t anymore.

Those steps can be easy to lose sight of when you’re always working toward the next thing. I built Scribe so skaters would have one place to keep track of their practices, coach notes, goals, tests, competitions, and progress — and be able to look back and actually see how far they’ve come.

I’ve worked in technology for more than 25 years, and Scribe brings together two things I know very well: building technology and life around the rink.
